Music News

COMMON plays FREE in Aspen! It's part of the Apres X concert series during the Winter X Games. Satellite Party (Perry Farrell's new band) plays Friday night, Jan. 26, and Common plays Jan. 27.

The first new album from Apples in Stereo in five years comes out Feb. 6! A tour is to follow, but no Denver dates are listed yet. I still remember seeing the Apples in Denver about six years ago at the tiny 15th St. Tavern here. That was the first time my co-worker had heard them, and he immediately fell into like, heading up to shake everyone's hand after the show with stars in his eyes. This may be the band's first album in a while, but perhaps you remember bandleader Robert Schneider appearing on The Colbert Report when Colbert challenged the Decemberists for Guitarmageddon. And MTV2.com has the new Apples video "Energy," directed by Elijah Wood.

OK, I just mentioned Colbert, which makes me think of Even Stephven, so watch Colbert and Steve Carell debate religion here
