The Forecast

Remember how there was Paniolo, then Kettle Black? OK Kettle Black has changed their name to Hello Kavita, and they play Thurs. night, 1/25, at the Larimer Lounge for a mere $5.

The Colorado Symphony Orchestra plays Michael Daugherty's Grammy-nominated "UFO" with percussionist Evelyn Glennie, 7:30 p.m. Friday, 1/26 at Boettcher Hall. If you can get to Boettcher Hall early, this is also opening night of a group show of visual artists at the hall, and there's a panel discussion with the artists at 6 p.m. All the artists have shown or will show with Self Made, the artist series at Double Daughters every Tuesday. Courtesy of Self Made, you can get discount tickets for the CSO performance for $10 if you go here and enter the password "SLFMADE" in the Promotions and Special Offers box. You must buy the tix before noon Friday for the discount. The promotion is for the CSO concert on Friday night OR the same concert Saturday night. (I just checked, and with all the Ticketmaster fees, it will cost you about $15, but there were seats available Friday in ORCHESTRA 2!!! Those tix are like $60+ regular price!)

Also this Friday and Saturday, 1/25-26, are those free shows in Aspen. Satellite Party on Friday, Common on Saturday.

Camera Obscura and Pony Up! play the Bluebird, Thurs., 2/8.

Snow Patrol AND OK Go AND Silversun Pickups, at the Fillmore, 3/6
